One night, a young boy decides that he will climb the mountain next to his home to visit the famous Magic Moon. He had been thinking about this journey for a long time.
Many villagers were afraid of Magic Moon. Some were so afraid they never made the journey up the mountain to make their two requests.
Magic Moon lived in the sky, just above the mountain’s peak. Once a month, for two days during the full moon, it was said that you could travel up the mountain and make your two requests, but only during the two days when Magic Moon’s two bright rings blazed around him.
On one particular night, the boy looked up and saw the two bright rings shining around Magic Moon.
It was time.
He told his mother and his sister that he would leave that very night.
His sister pleaded with him to ask Magic Moon to find her precious dolly, which she had lost a few days earlier. She had looked everywhere for Dolly but could not find her.
The boy had wanted to ask Magic Moon where to find his favorite toy. He had lost it several months ago and had nothing else to play with.
But as he looked into his sister’s tear-filled eyes, he promised to ask Magic Moon where to find her dolly instead.
